Kazaz Wins Aegean Rally

Marmaris Aegean Rally, the opening round of the Petrol Ofisi Maxima 2025 Turkish Rally Championship, organised by the Ege Automobile Sports Club with ICRYPEX as title sponsor, ended with victory for the Kerem Kazaz-Corentin Silvestre crew, competing for Team Petrol Ofisi. The 19-year-old Kazaz, who also won the junior drivers' category and Class 2, took the Remed Assistance Special Award as well, while Team Petrol Ofisi won the teams' title in its first rally in Turkey.

The Castrol Ford Team Türkiye crew of Ali Türkkan-Oytun Albayrak finished second overall, 26.7 seconds behind, and won Class 3, while third place went to Buğra Banaz-Onur Ahıskalı of Toksport WRT, who started on asphalt for the first time in four years. After three days of competition in Marmaris, whose spectacular scenery where the Mediterranean meets the Aegean has won the admiration of the whole world, Castrol Ford Team Türkiye took the manufacturers' title.

In a rally contested by 44 cars and 88 competitors, the Hüseyin Çetmen-Çağlar Süren crew won the 2WD classification and Class 4, while Uğur Kaban-Melih Uygun in Class 5 and Sevgi Aktürk-Begüm Uludağ in Class N were the other crews to reach a happy ending.

Uğur Soylu of GP Garage My Team, competing alongside Şener Güray, won the master drivers' category, while Eda Soylu, from the same team and competing with Yusuf Çalık, won the female drivers' category. The female co-drivers' award went to Begüm Uludağ.

In the TOSFED Rally Cup classification, held this year in memory of the late motorsport competitor Berç Arhanyan, Akın Can Kiper-Murat Yılmaz took the top spot and also won Category 2. The Yaman Yılmaz-Ali Emre Yılmaz crew finished second and won Category 3, while Evren Olcay-Yenal Kaya completed the rally third in the Cup classification.

In Category 4, Özgür Yürük-Mutlu Güler of GMG Racing and, in Category 1, Faruk Sayın-Hilal Olgun shared the class wins. Çiğdem Tümerkan won the female drivers' category in the Berç Arhanyan TOSFED Rally Cup, while Sena Er was the female co-drivers' winner.

In the Petrol Ofisi Maxima 2025 Turkish Rally Championship, the action moves in April to Bodrum, another jewel of the Aegean. Rally Bodrum, the second round of the season, will be organised by Karya Automobile Sports Club (KAROSK) from 17-19 April.
