Round three of the 2018 Turkish Rally Championship, the NG Kütahya Seramik 28th Aegean Rally, is being organised in Izmir by the Ege Otomobil Sporları Kulübü from 13 to 15 July 2018.
Everything You Need to Know About the Aegean RallyThe rally covers a 461km route including nine special stages totalling 114km. The Ramada Encore Hotel in Balçova will serve as rally headquarters, while the car park at Fuar İzmir in Gaziemir will host the service park. Besides the Turkish Rally Championship, the event also awards points towards the Turkish Historic Rally Championship and the Ali Sipahi Rally Cup, and around 50 cars are expected to take part.
Everything You Need to Know About the Aegean RallyThe rally begins on Friday evening, 13 July 2018, with a symbolic start at 19:00 in front of Çeşme Municipality. The opening day then features the 1.94km NG Kütahya Seramik Spectator Stage around Çeşme Marina at 20:30. Run in reverse start order, the stage is expected to attract huge public interest.
Everything You Need to Know About the Aegean RallyDay two, Saturday 14 July 2018, starts from Fuar İzmir at 13:00. After tackling the 10.90km Efemçukuru and 10.30km Gödence stages, the crews reach the service park from 16:00, and following a 45-minute end-of-day service they will finish the day in parc fermé. The 23.90km Kavakdere stage, run in memory of Ahmet Burkay, the 10.10km Seferihisar stage, run in memory of Selim Teoman, and the 11.50km Gödence stage, run in memory of İbrahim Talda, will each be run twice. Onat Telkenar, Emre Şentürk and Mert Kaya, who took the top three places in the 2017 season of the TOSFED Is Looking for a Star project, will face their first big test in Fiat Egea 1.4 T-Jet cars. Hasan Tansu, Berk Durak and Buğra Can Kılıç will be the other young drivers contesting the cup. The cup is divided into three separate categories: Fiesta R2T, Fiesta R2 and Fiesta ST. Bulgarian crew Georgi Geradzhiev - Georgi Gadzhev, who are following the cup, will also start in Izmir in a Fiesta R2.
