Half a Century in the History of the Republic

Mithat Diker, who is now in his 51st year on the stages, will start the "100th Anniversary Rally", held in Bolu on 27-29 October to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye. The rally carries huge significance for Diker, who has been actively competing for 51 years of the Republic's hundred-year history. Diker's first official event was the 1972 Uludağ Hill Climb, where he took on established names such as Ali Sipahi, Renç Koçibey, Ayhan Tokyay, Aytaç Kot, Faruk Süren and Demir Bükey, and won his class. Competing without a break ever since, Diker most recently finished on the podium at the 2023 TransAnatolia, completing the gruelling 2,350-kilometre route. President of the Aydın Automobile Sports Club, Diker enters the 100th Anniversary Rally with Erdal Oral, who has been his co-driver for 21 years. A successful businessman as well as a competitor, and a sponsor who has supported many competitors, Diker will contest the rally in a Fiat Palio. Ege Asal Motorspor will start the rally with two cars. Alongside Mithat Diker and Erdal Oral, the crew of Nusret Bayrakdar and Özgür Şenyüz will also compete in this special rally under Ege Asal Motorspor sponsorship.
