Çukurova-Bostancı Move into Championship Lead

Rally Turkey, held in Marmaris, Muğla as round 10 of the World Rally Championship, also awarded points at a 1.2 coefficient to the Turkish Rally Championship and the Turkish Historic Rally Championship.
Among the historic class crews, who competed until the end of Friday, Levent Gür-Oytun Albayrak took the overall win and the Category 1 win in a Murat 131, while Haydar Güçlü-Hakan Kanca finished second overall and won Category 2 in a BMW 2002. In this category, the crews of Mete Pala-Engin Mercan and Özgür Yürük-Mehmet Serkan Şahiner were unable to finish the rally due to mechanical problems.
In the Turkish Rally Championship classification, which ended at service park entry after the first loop on Saturday, the overall win and Class 2 win went to last year's Turkish Rally Champions Burak Çukurova-Vedat Bostancı, who competed in a Skoda Fabia R5 for BC Vision Motorsport.
Bora Manyera-Cem Çerkez, who entered the rally from Northern Cyprus in a Ford Fiesta R5, took second, and Erkan Güral-Burak Koçoğlu took third in a Skoda Fabia R5 for BC Vision Motorsport. In Class 4, Buğra Banaz-Burak Erdener, driving a Ford Fiesta R2 for Castrol Ford Team Türkiye, took victory, while in Class N Gürol Baranlı-Tan Serhan won in a Subaru Impreza WRX.
In the Ford Fiesta Rally Cup classification, for which the rally also awarded points, Bulgaria's Georgi Geradzhiev-Georgi Gadzev won, And Sunman-Efe Ersoy took second and Hakan Kerci-Deniz Gümüş finished third.
The 2018 Turkish Rally Championship, in which the Burak Çukurova-Vedat Bostancı crew moved into the lead, will continue with Istanbul Rally, organised by the Istanbul Automobile Sports Club (İSOK) on 20-21 October.
