Buğra Banaz Leads Rally Bodrum
Rally Bodrum, the second round of the Petrol Ofisi Maxima 2025 Turkish Rally Championship, organised for the fifth time this year by Karya Otomobil Spor Kulübü (KAROSK), got under way with the start ceremony at Bodrum Municipality Square.
With 48 cars and 96 competitors entered, the rally is being run on asphalt stages that showcase the natural beauty of the Bodrum and Milas districts, and today's opening leg, made up of six special stages, produced a fierce fight.
Buğra Banaz and Onur Ahıskalı of Toksport WRT finished the first day in the lead in their Skoda Fabia R5 EVO with a total time of 31 minutes 45.3 seconds. Ali Türkkan and Oytun Albayrak of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye ended the day second, 45.3 seconds adrift, while third place went to the Romanian crew of Anderi Dan Girtofan and Emil Dorin Pulpea of GP Garage My Team.
In the 2WD category, Hüseyin Çetmen and Çağlar Süren lead Class 4, with Uğur Kaban and Melih Uygur on top in Class 5, while in the Berç Arhanyan TOSFED Rally Cup, Evren Olcay and Yenal Kaya are in first place.
The event, supported by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Bodrum District Governorate, Milas District Governorate, Bodrum District Directorate of Youth and Sports and Bodrum Municipality, and organised with the contributions of Duja Hotels, NOTHING, Evofone, VST Tour, SHA Gayrimenkul İnşaat, Pars Entertainment, BESİAD (Bodrum Tradesmen, Industrialists and Businesspeople Association), BODER (Bodrum Hoteliers Association), Bodrum Journalists Association, Spor Toto, Remed Assistance, Salados, Fora Mobil Araç Takip and Power App, will conclude at Bodrum Square at 14:30 on Saturday 19 April.
