National karting driver Berkay Besler, who represents our country successfully abroad, has added another international success to his record. Berkay won the fourth round of the Central and Eastern Europe Rotax Max Challenge in the Czech Republic, moved into a clear championship lead and pushed the door to the title wide open.

Competing in the Senior class at the 1,132-metre Vysoke Myto circuit, Berkay Besler was in stormy form. Our successful driver set the fastest time in qualifying with a 45.278 and started the 18-lap Pre-Final from the front. Berkay also set the fastest lap of the Pre-Final with a 45.869 and won it with a total time of 13:50.070, taking 34 points. Daniel Machacek was second and David Rychtar third. Among our representative's championship rivals, Niki Kresse finished sixth and Mick Wishofer 17th.

Having said before travelling that the driver had been eagerly awaiting this race, Berkay Besler produced a superb performance in the Final, starting from first place. Our representative kept a controlled pace until the middle part of the race and then picked it up even further, taking the chequered flag first in the 22-lap contest with a time of 16:57.360, 3.471 seconds ahead of Daniel Machacek, and added another 55 points to the tally. Petr Bezel was third and Mick Wishofer fourth. Niki Kresse finished 18th. After the fourth round of the CEE Rotax Max Challenge, Berkay Besler leads the overall classification on 334 points and is very close to the title. Second-placed Daniel Machacek has 320 points, third-placed Mick Wishofer 304 and fourth-placed Niki Kresse 292. The fifth and final round of the series will take place in Hungary on 18-20 September.
