Turkish karting driver Berkay Besler won the senior max championship following the final round of the International Belgium Max Challenge, held at the Genk circuit in Belgium on 29-30 October.

Heading into the final round as championship leader, Berkay took second in qualifying, then finished the first race in second and the second race in third... Running second in the day's third race, Besler eased off, allowing team-mates to take podium finishes too, and won hearts once again.

After the race, the Turkish driver collected the championship trophy on the podium to applause and celebrated with all of the team-mates and crew, saying: "I would like to express my endless thanks and gratitude to the Bouvin Power team, to Emre Ergökçen and to my family for this superb season... I am still doing my best to represent my country at the highest level without any state support. That is why I am full of gratitude to these people, who make every kind of personal sacrifice for me..."

Returning to Turkey after this race, Besler will be at the Körfez circuit on 5-6 November for the final round of the Turkish Karting Championship...
