Ayşe Çebi Impresses at Lonato

National team driver Ayşe Çebi, who competed in round five of the IAME Italian Series at the Lonato circuit last weekend, finished the demanding event in second place in the senior women's category on the podium.

Among 55 drivers from 15 different countries in the senior category, Çebi made a quick start to the weekend by finishing qualifying and the first heat in eighth place, but lost 13 positions in the third heat when contact from a rival from behind sent the driver off the track.

Starting the final from 26th place, the 16-year-old driver finished the race in 25th, taking second place among the seven female drivers.

Ayşe Çebi's next race will be round four of the Rotax Max Challenge Euro Trophy, to be held as a night race, again at the Lonato circuit, on 30-31 August.
